Q1: What does LGH stand for?
A: LGH stands for LOTUS Guest House and are our Private Rooms with Private Baths. The rooms either have a single full bed (LGH-Single), 2 twin beds (LGH-Double), or a single Queen bed (LGH-Family). Some of the LGH-Family rooms have 2 trundle breds as well. All room types are the same price, and we reserve the right to move you from one LGH type to another if the need arises.
Q2: What is the difference between the Private Dormitory and the LGH?
A: A private dorm is a private room with a shared bath, located in our dormitory building, RN, and the bathroom facilities are shared with the entire floor. A LGH is a private room with a private bath, see above (Q1).
Q3: What does the Total Cost Include:?
A: For guest stays the total cost is the amount of your accommodations based on accommodation type, number of nights, and number of people. Accommodation rates can be found here: Accommodations. Cost includes accommodations, food, and all activities on the Ashram Daily Schedule.
A: For programs the total cost is the amount of tuition and your accommodations based on accommodation type and number of nights. The tuition and the accommodation rates listed on the program page are for 1 person. Additional person’s rates will be calculated by selecting accommodation type and then number of guests on the sign-up page. Q4: What is your cancellation policy?

Q5: Are the dorms co-ed?
A: The dorms are not co-ed.
Q6: Can I bring my children?
A: Children are welcome to come as guests, and will need pre-approval to attend any program or workshop not specified as a children’s program. Q7: What should I bring with me?

Q8: Do you have a dress code I need to follow?
A: Yes we do have a dress code. In general it’s best to aim for modest attire. You can read about our dress code here: Dress Code
Q9: Do you offer any discounts? Financial aid?
A: We offer the following discounts. You can request a financial aid form by email at [email protected] or by phone at 800.858.9642.
Senior – 10% discount for those 65 or older
Military – 10% discount for our Active and Retired Service Men and Women
Student – 10% discount for all Full-time Students
International – 10% discount for those living outside the US Full-time
IYTA – 10% discount on programs for Integral Yoga Teachers Association Active Members; 5% discount for Teacher Trainings.
First Program – $40.00 discount if it’s your first program with us. Selected Programs, yoga vacations, Teacher Trainings, and all Guest Stays do not qualify.
Extended Stay – 15% discount for stays of 7 nights or longer. Applies to Accommodations only.
There is a 20% max discount on all reservations
Q10: Do you provide Transportation to/from the Ashram? How much does it cost?
A: Transportation can be provided to/from the Ashram and Charlottesville Virginia, at Charlottesville Airport, Train Station, or Bus Station only. Transportation is provided between the hours of 9 am – 8 pm and is $50.00 each way. We do not provide transportation to/from DC or Richmond.
Q11: Are meals included?
A: Yes, meals are included in the cost of Lodging. If you come up for a day visit (see below Q13) then you can pay for meals at the door. Meals are served 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For Overnight reservations, our meals are structured around the Night, starting at the Dinner of your first arrival date, going until the lunch of your departure.
Q12: What if I have Special Dietary Requirements?
A: We serve Vegan and Vegetarian Options buffet style. We have a full hot line and a full salad bar. Anytime there is a dairy or gluten containing offering we will also serve an option that is gluten or dairy free. If you have any concerns about a particular dish, please ask the cook, who will be happy to let you know what ingredients are included.
Q13: Can we come up for a Day Visit without booking overnight?
A: You are welcome to come up at any time when we are accepting regular guests, and pay for a half day pass at $25, a full day pass at $35.00, or simply pay for one meal or class. You can also come up and walk around the facilities if you are simply interested in checking out the area and sacred sites, at no charge. No Reservations are made for Day Visits or meals; you will simply pay at the door.
Q14: Do you Offer Bodywork or Massage?
A: Satchidananda Ashram Yogaville does not provide bodywork or massage but a list of bodyworkers and certified massage specialists within the Ashram community can be obtained by emailing [email protected].
Q15: Do you have spots for Campers and RVs? What is the cost?
A: Yes, we have 2 parking spaces. Maximum size is 25 ft, neither of our RV parking spaces have electric or water hook-ups. They are the same rate as a Tent-site. $50.00 per person per night Sunday – Thursday night, and $60.00 per person per night Friday and Saturday Night. The parking spaces are on a graveled lot and within a minute walk of our camper bathrooms and tent-sites. Use of (your own) RV leveling blocks is recommended.
Q16: Are Animals allowed?
A: Please leave your pets as home, this applies to all ashram Tent-sites and RVs. However, we are happy to accommodate Medical Service Animals. Please plan to stay in a Lotus Guest House room or Tent-Site, instead of the dorms due to the shared housing. Let reservations know you will be bringing a Medical Service Animal in advance of your stay. Please bring documentation to support this. We request that your Service Animal be wearing their service vest, collar, or harness at all times in public areas.
Please be advised no Medical Service Animals may enter our sacred sites I.E. Guru Bhavan, LOTUS, Chidambaram, or Sivananda Hall. We require all Medical Service animals to be attended to at at all times in public. It is important your Medical Service animal does not cause disturbances to other guests.
As a 501 (c)(3) with church status, Yogaville maintains the right to set its own policy with regard to service animals on its premises. In areas where service animals are not permitted, staff assistance will be made readily available upon request.
Q17: I would like to bring a group of people up for a Private Retreat. How can I do this?
