The Light Of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS) is a unique temple dedicated to interfaith understanding and world peace. Inside the shrine, individual altars represent and honor the various world faiths and spiritual paths. The Light, a symbol found in many of the world’s spiritual traditions, represents the Divine Light within. LOTUS welcomes all people.
Sri Swami Satchidananda’s inspired vision of LOTUS became a reality at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville in Buckingham, Virginia, USA, in July 1986 during dedication festivities attended by thousands of people from all over the world.
We welcome all donations to LOTUS, large and small. These contributions will allow us to maintain LOTUS and to share Sri Swami Satchidananda’s interfaith message that there are many paths leading to the Truth.

It is our goal to establish an Endowment Fund for LOTUS. This will ensure that Sri Swami Satchidananda’s interfaith teachings are readily available around the globe. An Endowment Fund will help us maintain LOTUS and expand our interfaith outreach, service, and programs.
