Secrets of Love in the Bhagavad Gītā

with Līlā Śakti Mayī, M.A.

March 29 - 31, 2024

Ancient sacred texts hold mystical keys that can unlock new realms of understanding and experience in all parts of our lives. The Bhagavad Gītā, emerging from the Indian subcontinent thousands of years ago, is one such text. It comes to us in the form of a dialogue between a warrior prince, Arjuna, and the Divine, Krishna, playing the role of a charioteer. Flowing through a wide variety of spiritual and practical subject matter, the Gītā returns again and again to one simple message from Krishna: “Come to me.”

It is this call from God that we will focus on hearing deeply, exploring how it resounds throughout the entirety of the text. To help us listen more acutely, we will approach the special dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna through the language in which it is spoken—Sanskrit.

Grounded in the original Sanskrit verse, discover feeling uniquely moved to enter into the conversation of Arjuna and Krishna to find fresh inspiration, insight, support, and encouragement along your individual spiritual path.

Join us on this rich and expansive journey into one of the world’s most beloved sacred texts. Embrace the opportunity of the Gītā to sensitize your mind and heart to the nature of your own being, the way you interact with the world, and most importantly to the Divine.

In this program we will:

  • Learn Sanskrit pronunciation and receive introduction to other foundations of the language.
  • Engage directly with scripture through guided meditations, journaling, and other activities.
  • Learn how to navigate the Bhagavad Gītā as a beloved tool beyond the retreat.

The whole experience is well supported and wonderful. The whole community is heartful and helpful, especially for someone like me being here for the first time. ーProgram Participant

My stay at Satchidananda ashram was exactly what I needed. The combination of spiritual ceremonies, meditation and hatha Yoga was very helpful in addressing the needs of body mind and spirit. My favorite part of the experience was the palpable presence of Swami Satchidananda’s energy, which made it easy to abide in a vibration of love and light at all times!—Kevin DeCamp
