The Last Savasana: Embracing Your Final Exit

with Leslie Howard E-RYT 500, C-IAYT

September 1, 2024

September 1, 2024 from 2–5:30 pm

Join Leslie for a soul-stirring exploration and deep dive into Savasana. In a culture of avoiding death, this intimate practice beckons us to look at the inevitable and beautiful truth of our mortality. Throughout this workshop immerse yourself in the wisdom of yoga to embrace death and appreciate the preciousness of each day.

Discover how the practice of yoga brings us invaluable tools to cultivate more awareness of the present moment while facing our humanness. This workshop is designed to help manage the anxiety surrounding death and to create ease when navigating conversations about this universal experience.

Take a dive into the history, practice, and symbolic message behind Savasana followed by journaling and a group discussion. Engage with thought-provoking questions around your own death to find clarity and introspection into your core values. Walk away with a newfound understanding of Savasana as both a yoga pose and greater metaphor of both life and death.

In this workship you’ll:

  • Find a renewed appreciation for the beauty of our time on the planet
  • Increase personal agency around end of life decisions
  • Delve deep on what really matters to you
  • Realize a new perspective on a very old pose and how it can help you be more comfortable with the inevitable.

Testimonials

Thanks so much for you chock-full of information and enlightening workshop! What a treat! I am forever changed with this new awareness. I want to shout it from the mountain tops. I look forward to exploring this more. This is coming from a guy who hits a volleyball with his right hand, swings a tennis racket with his right hand, kicks a soccer ball mostly with his right foot, and who tempers a post-surgery right knee. The “magic” of yoga has my right knee suddenly smiling and in balance with the rest of my body. I had a game the following night and I couldn’t believe how my body felt. None of my joints were moaning and my body was so good to go…” – Paul G.
