Gentle Somatic Yoga® Weekend Retreat: Awaken the Possible

with James Knight, E-RYT 200, CHSE

October 11 - 13, 2024

Experience a weekend of complete restoration while learning therapeutic movement sequences called Somatic Movement Flows®. Gentle Somatic Yoga® (GSY) is a simple, practical, and reliable form of brain-to-muscle repatterning that goes to the root cause of most muscular pain, stiffness, and posture imbalances.

Instead of traditional stretching, GSY strengthens the brain-to-muscle connection through a technique called pandiculation. Bring back comfort to the movement of your body, improve your health, and amplify the overall quality of your life. Feel empowered by embodying progressive and innovative techniques that combine Hatha Yoga, Hanna Somatic Education, Core Energetics, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation.

This is a great introductory course for anyone wanting to build or enhance a daily home practice. If you are a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, bodyworker, or health care professional you can implement Gentle Somatic Movement Flows effortlessly into your group classes or customized personal sessions.

This spiritual weekend workshop retreat is also part of the Gentle Somatic Yoga Level 2 Training. Therefore, you are welcome to extend your stay for a few more days at Yogaville and continue with your Gentle Somatic Yoga education.

During this in-person longer event, you will learn more about the method, neuroscience, history, and philosophy behind GSY. James Knight will teach you 29+ therapeutic Somatic Movement Flows® along with “learning laboratories” and breakout sessions for questions and answers about healing your own body. At the completion of the six-day program, you qualify to become a GSY Practitioner Level 2 with a Certification add-on option. To learn more about certification, click HERE.

James has been an Integrative Therapist for over 25 years. He is a Yoga teacher (E-RYT 200) and Certified Hanna Somatic Educator (CHSE). From his combined experience as a lifelong yogi, intuitive bodyworker, psychotherapist, and movement educator, James created a method of Yoga that integrates what he discovered to be the most progressive, life-enhancing techniques into an embodied movement practice.
