Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

Program Description

This training prepares Yoga teachers to teach classes in Prenatal Yoga. The specialized prenatal practices help the students become aware of the changes of pregnancy and promote relaxation and suppleness. The Prenatal Yoga pranayama, chanting, and visualizations are powerful tools for the parent to attune to their baby and its needs.

An in-depth review of the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, labor, and birth lays the foundation for teachers’ understanding of the myriad benefits of Hatha Yoga for pregnancy. They will gain extensive experience with asanas well suited to pregnant individuals and a thorough acquaintance with contraindications during pregnancy. The training will sensitize teachers to the profound physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual transitions of pregnancy and birth and demonstrate how such techniques as chanting, pranayama, deep relaxation, and meditation can be effective ways of coping with these changes.

Discussions of the energy anatomy of pregnancy and birth will deepen teachers’ knowledge of the Integral Yoga prenatal practice.

Integral Yoga Prenatal Teacher certification includes teaching a practicum.

Schedule

May 3 – June 2, 2024   (May 24-26 Memorial Day weekend off)

Fridays • 6:00pm – 9:00pm EDT
Saturdays and Sundays • 11:00am – 3:00pm EDT

All classes online, final weekend is hybrid with an in-person option.

Practicum: Students will teach a Prenatal class as the qualifying exam for certification. Qualifying classes may be scheduled between June 3 and July 1.  Students should plan to be available to teach one qualifying class and attend three classes taught by fellow classmates during this time.

Tuition

Tuition includes the training manual, free Hatha classes for the duration of the training, and a $100 non-refundable administrative fee.

• $1,200 Early Bird Discount when you register by March 31, 2024
• $1,170 for IYINY Active Teachers and IYTA members

A payment plan is available in two monthly installments.The first installment is due upon acceptance into the training, and the following installment will be automatically billed after 30 days.  First installment payment must be made no later than April 30 or full tuition will be due before starting the training.  A $25 administrative fee will be included in the payment plan.

Scholarships

2 partial scholarships of $650 are available for eligible BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please indicate this request on your application.

If you would like to donate to support Integral Yoga’s scholarship fund, you may select the tuition + donation option when you register, and an additional one-time contribution of $25 will be added to your payment. Auditing

Teachers who are already certified in Prenatal through Integral Yoga may participate in this program at a discounted rate of $575. Auditors are not required to attend all sessions and will not be evaluated on assignments.  If you are interested in auditing this course, please email TeacherTraining@iyiny.org with a copy of your Integral Yoga Prenatal certificate.

Submit your application and deposit through the link above. We will review your application and send further instructions to complete your enrollment. We encourage students to submit their applications as early as possible. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis, admission is not guaranteed. Application Deadline: April 20, 2024

Prerequisite

Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification (200-hour).
All applicants must be familiar with the Integral Yoga Level I class.

Certification and Continuing Education Credits

• Yoga Alliance: 85 hours for RPYT designation or continuing education credit
• 300-Hour Certification: 85 hours credit for Integral Yoga 300-Hour Certification
