200-hour Integral Yoga Teacher Training – Online

October 15, 2020 - January 17, 2021

The Integral Yoga® 200-hour Teacher Training – Online at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville provides a strong foundation for personal and spiritual development, a space for nurturing your own practice, and the skills necessary to become a knowledgeable Yoga teacher.

This comprehensive online Yoga teacher certification is a 12 week-long program consisting of 200 class hours. The training will take a break for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

You will learn to teach each portion of the Integral Yoga Level I class, including asana (Yoga poses), deep relaxation, pranayama (breathing practices), chanting, and meditation. Students will be responsible for additional sadhana  (meditation and Hatha Yoga practice) hours each week.

Additionally, you will explore:

  • Classes in a vegetarian diet
  • Instruction in basic anatomy and physiology
  • Chanting instruction—for personal practice and class settings
  • Raja Yoga (the science of the mind and yogic lifestyle)
  • Jnana Yoga (the study of Self-inquiry)
  • Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion; including chanting, worship, and self-surrender)
  • Karma Yoga (the practice of selfless service)
  • Conducting and publicizing classes

There will be a break during the holidays on November 26, 29, and December 24, 27, 31.
Upon request, Swami Arivananda will be available for tutoring and individual questions during that time.

Training Information

Prerequisites
Applicants should be regular practitioners of Hatha Yoga for at least six months, preferably one year. Applicants should be familiar with the Integral Yoga style of Hatha practice. If not, you can click here to purchase a DVD of the Level 1 class led by Swami Satchidananda. There is also a YouTube video available of the Level 1 class. Please note that participants will need a strong internet connection and a device larger than a phone to participate in the classes.

Certification
Graduates receive a diploma certifying them to teach Integral Yoga Level 1 classes and are awarded 200 Yoga Alliance hours.

Saci Murphy, E-RYT 500, Saci has been teaching all levels and branches of Integral Yoga since 2009. Previously, she enjoyed an eclectic career as a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer for 25 years. She owned and operated a successful performing arts center and ballet company and developed a software company that pioneered interactive multimedia and training programs internationally. Stepping into the LOTUS temple, the Light Of Truth Universal Shrine at Satchidananda Ashram – Yogaville, was a turning point for Saci. Marc Mukunda Morozumi, E-RYT 500, CMT
Marc Mukunda Morozumi, E-RYT 500, CMT, Integral Yoga Lead Teacher Trainer, began practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 2001 while a full-time modern dancer with Joe Goode Performance Group in SF, CA. Due to injury, Mukunda retired from his dance career in 2004 and entered the events industry for a 12-year career. In 2007, he was able to make a 2-month trip to India as a personal journey. After enjoying an immersion at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala and visits to Auroville and others, he chose to deepen his practice with a teacher training in Yogaville in 2009 with Swami Divyananda and…

Swami Priyaananda, E-RYT 500
Swami Priyaananda is a senior disciple of Swami Satchidananda with thirty years of experience in the practice of Integral Yoga. She served in the Integral Yoga Health Services division and the Distribution Department at Satchidananda Ashram in Connecticut, as well as Executive Secretary and Coordinator of the Living Yoga Training program at the Ashram in Virginia. Currently, she is Vice President of the Office of Spiritual Development and Manager of Satchidananda Archives.

Amrita Sandra McLanahan, M.D.
Dr. McLanahan is a graduate with high honors from Swarthmore College, and she has an M.D. from Wayne University and a family practice specialty from the University of Massachusetts. For 20 years, she served as director of stress management for Dr. Dean Ornish’s research, using Yoga and lifestyle changes to reverse heart disease and cancer. She now practices integrative medicine at Yogaville. Dr. McLanahan has made multiple study trips to India and Asia, where she visited centers that use Yoga and other natural means to prevent and treat disease.
