Yoga for Your Dosha: Find Balance with Ayurveda
with Michael Rhadeya Plasha, E-RYT 500, RPYT
April 5 - 7, 2019
The principles of Ayurveda, the science of longevity, can support us in adapting, adjusting, and accommodating our Yoga practice to our bio-energy body types or doshas. By taking a skillful, Ayurvedic approach to asana (posture), we can rectify physical and energetic imbalances and establish equilibrium. Conversely, signs that your Yoga practice may be creating an imbalance in the system are pitta tension, vata anxiety, and kapha lethargy.
In this dynamic workshop, you will learn how to fine-tune your practice with dualistic energetics: expanding and contracting, ascending and descending, heating and cooling, and tonifying and reducing. Explore how to practice postures and sequences informed by the knowledge of the five pranas (energies). Self-inquiry, discussions, and experiential practice will establish a deeper connection to your body type through an Ayurvedic approach to asana. You will return home with a renewed and invigorated practice that is best suited to your individual needs.
