Be Your Best Friend: Wholehearted Self-Compassion
with Sampada Desai, M.A., LPC, E-RYT 500, CLL
February 23 - 25, 2018
Often, we find it easier to offer compassion, kindness, and unconditional positive regard to others. Yet when it comes to ourselves, we are more likely to be highly critical, unforgiving, or unkind. Over time, depriving ourselves of compassion has adverse cumulative effects on our confidence, self-esteem, creativity, productivity, relationships and overall happiness.
Research has shown that individuals who are self-compassionate are more likely to be resilient, optimistic, creative, and happy. Learn to cultivate self-love and self-compassion during this weekend program.
In this workshop, Sam will share with you:
- The importance of cultivating compassion towards all aspects of yourself
- Psychological principles, spiritual wisdom, Yoga, meditation, healing imagery, storytelling, pair and group work
- Loving guidance in becoming your own best friend
- Ways to encourage and inspire others to be self-compassionate as well
With this soul-affirming practice of self-compassion, you will be able to encourage and inspire others to be self-compassionate as well.
Sam Desai is an awesome teacher—compassionate, wise, and very, very fun! I’ve taken many self-growth classes and have taught my own (as a health and life coach + psychotherapist) and I can honestly say that Sam’s class is one of my favorite experiences! — Karen Schachfer
Absolutely one of the best program and teachers I’ve ever enjoyed at Yogaville. Truly helped me resolve some life issues, had me laughing and dancing- both rare in my life. Sampada is wonderful!!! — John W. Ward, Jr.
This was not my first time at Yogaville, but it was my first time participating in a program. I found it deepened the connection I have with myself and solidified my commitment to more meaningful living. — Karen Levy Newman
My expectations were definitely met. Sam is very knowledgeable and experienced and teaches with great warmth. — JoAnn Whiteley
Sam is great—quirky, happy energy, totally unassuming and open which was much appreciated. She managed to make the group feel very cohesive. — Past Participant
