A Workshop for Yoga Teachers, Yoga Therapists and HealthCare Professionals
Join us for a grounding weekend dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. Learn how to help individuals on their journey towards physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through the practice of Yoga.
This comprehensive workshop is designed for Yoga teachers, Yoga Therapists and healthcare professionals, passionate about offering Yoga as a holistic support system for people with cancer. Whether you’re new to teaching or have experience, this workshop will serve as an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to create a safe and inclusive Yoga practice for those facing the challenges of cancer.
Statistics from the National Cancer Institute indicate a growing number of cancer survivors in the United States, with an estimated 15.5 million in 2016 and a projection of 20.3 million by 2026. Additionally, each year, thousands of individuals receive the daunting diagnosis of cancer, with 1,735,350 new cases expected in 2018. It is highly likely that individuals in your Yoga classes may either be newly diagnosed or cancer survivors. Recognizing the vital need for accessible and safe Yoga practices for this demographic – both physically and emotionally – whether in a Yoga studio or a medical setting, we invite you to join us for a comprehensive weekend workshop.
This approach is based in meeting people where they are, adapting concepts rather than scripting asanas for a particular diagnosis and creating an accessible Yoga practice for use across the cancer continuum.
