The Timeless River of Bhakti
with Jai Uttal
May 26 - 29, 2023
Human beings from time immemorial, from all over the world, have had within their hearts a longing to be closer to God, closer to spirit, closer to their creator, closer to their divine Mother. And every ancient culture has a form of group prayer and invocation that involves singing, rhythm, and storytelling.
In India these basic human emotions evolved into what is known as Bhakti Yoga. The heart of this Yoga is called kirtan, calling out to God and Goddess through simple yet powerful mantras and names.
These mantras are considered to be the embodiment of these deities, and by chanting with reverence, intention, and devotion, the bhakta (devotee) can arrive at the crystal-clear and soul-soothing ‘Timeless River of Bhakti’.
Jai Uttal invites you to join him and his Bhakti family for this special retreat at Yogaville. Come and chant, hear ageless stories, and share a moment in time amongst a heart-centered community.
Jai has been leading, teaching, and performing World Music and kirtan around the world for over 50 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices.
Two inspiring talks will also be offered by guest presenter and senior Integral Yoga teacher Swami Asokananda on the topics of Bhakti Yoga and “Transcending Worry, Anxiety, and Fear Through Devotion”. Swami Asokananda is well-known for his wisdom, sincerity, and spiritual dedication.
Jai will perform a special concert for the Saturday night Satsang as part of this workshop at Yogaville. If you can’t make it for the weekend program, join Jai Uttal for an intimate Saturday evening concert. All are welcome.

Everything about this program was exceptional. The Yogaville “experience” cannot be adequately described in words—think kindness, peace, and bliss. The content (kirtan/chanting) was meditative and soul-stirring. In a word: Perfect!! Om Shanti — Joel Bruno
This was an excellent program to connect with God and community. I highly recommend it! — Rebecca
I am always grateful for the chance to spend time with Swami Asokananda and hear his take on Yoga philosophy and living in the current day. He asks thought-provoking questions and finds meaning in what his students have to offer. No matter what the course or lecture topic, he offers help with meditation and yoga “off the mat.” — Amy Weinstein
