You Will Explore:
- Classes in vegetarian diet
- Instruction in basic anatomy and physiology
- Chanting instruction—for personal practice and class settings
- Raja Yoga (the science of the mind and yogic lifestyle)
- Jnana Yoga (the study of Self-inquiry)
- Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion; including chanting, worship, and self-surrender)
- Karma Yoga (the practice of selfless service)
- Conducting and publicizing classes
Prerequisites: Applicants should be regular practitioners of Hatha Yoga for six months, preferably one year.
Certification: Graduates receive a diploma certifying them to teach Integral Yoga Level I classes and are awarded 220 Yoga Alliance hours.
Integral Yoga is a registered school of the Yoga Alliance—a voluntary alliance of organizations and teachers dedicated to uphold the integrity of Yoga—and provides ongoing support for Yoga professionals in the United States.
About the Instructors
Rev. Vidya Vonne began her spiritual journey in California in 1969. Living and working in the Integral Yoga Institute in Los Angeles, she taught Integral Hatha Yoga in schools, colleges, churches, health clubs, corporations, and living rooms. Now an ordained Minister of Integral Yoga, Rev. Vidya splits her time between Yogaville and Santa Barbara, California, where she teaches Hatha Yoga Teachers Training, gives workshops in pranayama and Yoga Nidra, teaches gentle to advanced Hatha classes, and offers therapeutic massage to residents and program participants.
Lalita Dagny Vigander has been practicing Integral Yoga since 1998 and instructing since 2005. She is now certified through Advanced Hatha, as well as Stress Management, Raja, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Yoga of Recovery, Children’s Yoga, and Yoga for People with Cancer. She serves at Satchidananda Ashram as a teacher trainer for the basic and intermediate levels (including anatomy and physiology) and teaches children, adult, and senior classes in hatha, meditation, and stress management.
Ram Wiener is one of our foremost administrators and teachers at Yogaville. He is a certified Meditation, Raja Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Intermediate Hatha Yoga teacher. Ram is also the Vice President of Programs, overseeing the Integral Yoga Academy, all of our teachers’ programs, the Department of Program Development and Advertising, as well as the Ashram businesses.
