Dr. Shirely Telles speaking on “Neuroscience and Yoga: Understanding the Science Behind Yoga for Daily Living”

Shirley Telles, M.B.B.S., M.Phil, Ph.D., completed her Bachelor of Medicine and subsequently Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in Neurophysiology from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences, NIMHANS, Bangalore, India. She is the director of research at Patanjali Research Center, Haridwar, India and the head of the Indian Council of Medical Research Center for Advanced Research in Yoga and Neurophysiology. She has 146 research publications related to Yoga research in journals indexed in international bibliographic databases e.g., Medline, 12 chapters in books and 3 published books. She received an award from The John Templeton Foundation, USA, for an essay in neurobiology, and a Fulbright Fellowship to study Functional magnetic resonance imaging in meditators at the Dept. of Radiology, University of Florida. In addition to her illustrious research career, Dr. Telles is also an enthusiastic practitioner of Yoga.
