Peace Love RVA Festival

Richmond, VA – June 17

Bringing our community together in peace and love is what it’s all about. Our goal is to foster a safe and nurturing environment in which participants of all levels can explore the art and wisdom of yoga and meditation.  Working with some of Richmond’s most talented yoga teachers, artists, small businesses and vendors, we hope to unite Richmond for a day of peace while exploring yoga together as a community.

Shensara Festival

Luray, VA – July 20-23

Located on the beautiful banks of the Shenandoah River, the Shersara Festival offers four days of yoga and meditation with some of the best teachers around. After class, head down to the river for a cool soak in the gentle current of the Shenandoah, or grab a bite to eat from one of the vegetarian vendors on hand. Craft booths and educational class will  be going on throughout the weekend. And at night, under the open stars, lay out your blanket and chillax with bands like Gita’s Dream, the Ascendants, and Lobo Marino.

Lovelight Yoga and Arts Festival

Darlington, MD – August 18-20

The Lovelight Festival is a three-day Transformational gathering that’s packed full of yoga classes, Kirtan, workshops and musical performances; as well as installations, drumming, flow arts, and wholesome food. It celebrates the evolution of yoga culture—from its introduction in the 60’s counterculture, to modern yoga studio and transformational cultures.

Floyd Yoga Jam

Floyd, VA – August 31-September 3

Now in it’s 6th year, the Floyd Yoga Jam is one of the biggest Yoga festivals in Virginia. Yoga classes are offered in a wide variety of styles by some of the most talented teachers around. There are also art activities to choose from, hiking trails, nightly concerts by nationally recognized musicians, and lots and lots more! Bring your tent and camp out under the stars.

C’ville Veggie Fest

Charlottesville, VA – September 24

This is a FREE family-friendly festival in downtown Charlottesville, VA. Come for the delicious vegetarian fare served up by local eateries, and stay for the music, arts & crafts, and to connect with progressive local vendors.

Our Teachers

Swami Asokananda, RYT 500

A monk since 1973, Swami Asokananda is one of Integral Yoga’s foremost teachers. His teaching comes out of his own practice and experience, having absorbed the wisdom of his Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda since the age of nineteen. He is one of the primary instructors for Intermediate and Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. He presently serves as president at the New York Integral Yoga Institute.

Leticia Padmasri, E-RYT 500

Letícia Padmasri is an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, a certified advanced Integral Hatha Yoga teacher, and a certified Raja Yoga teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, a master’s degree in education, and has dedicated many years towards the study of exercise physiology. In addition to being one of Yogaville’s primary teacher trainers, she also offers workshops and seminars in the USA and Brazil.

Shankari Bowmaster, RYT 500

Trained in the lineage of Integral Yoga and Adaptive Yoga, she has evolved her own style of Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow, which she calls Soul Flow. She is a Certified Yoga of Recovery teacher. She has served for the last 4 years as Director of Visitor Services at Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville. She is the Creative Director and partner of Shensara Yoga Festival, and tours with the magical Kirtan and world music duo, The Ascendants. Connect more with Shankari at www.shankarinow.com

Rukmini Ando, E-RYT 200

Rukmini started her Yoga journey 13 years ago and has been teaching since 2010. She is certified in the Basic and Intermediate Integral Yoga Teacher Trainings, Adaptive Yoga, and Yoga of Recovery. As a teacher, she’s known for her clear instruction and her classes include fun, level-appropriate challenges.

Krishna Jo Melendez, RYT 200

Krishna Jo was introduced to the teachings of his Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, at the Integral Yoga Institute–New York in 2012. Soon after, he became a certified Yoga instructor through the Integral Yoga Institute–New Jersey. He now lives and teaches at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville, serving as the manager of Integral Yoga Distribution, a wholesale company catering to Yoga studios, health food stores, and specialty shops.

Rev. Sumati Govinda, RYT 500, RN

Rev. Sumati Govinda is a gifted spiritual coach who specializes in teaching Yoga philosophy and meditation. She furthered her education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She is a senior disciple of H.H. Sri Swami Satchidananda and has lived at Yogaville since 1973. www.sumatigovinda.com

Michael Melillo, RYT 350

Michael discovered Integral Yoga in 2014 and went on to receive his Raja Yoga teacher certification in 2015. He has since gone on to receive teacher certifications in Stress Management and Meditation. He currently lives at Satchidnanda Ashram–Yogaville, serving as the Landscape Manager.

 

Matt Jivada Fritts, E-RYT 500

Jivada (Matt) Fritts, MPH, PMP, E-RYT 500 was introduced to Sri Swami Satchidananda and the Integral Yoga teachings in 1995. He completed Basic and Intermediate Teacher Training (in India) in 1996 and 1998, respectively. Jivada’s career has focused on integrative medicine modalities, including yoga and meditation; and his teaching style is an outgrowth of his knowledge of medical science, yoga philosophy and Buddhist meditation.

Jessica Glendinning, RYT 200

Jessica (Dhara) Glendinning is a certified Integral Yoga teacher who founded Rebel Yogi to help social entrepreneurs and other positive changemakers find their own path to personal sustainability. She teaches Integral-inspired Hatha yoga classes in Charlottesville, VA. Her yoga classes are a gentle, playful, and mindful in-the-moment exploration of body and mind.
