We’ll start the weekend with a closer look at the physiology of stress and relaxation, then introduce profound yet simple-to-learn stress management skills. You’ll have the opportunity to explore your own vision for healthy well-being.
This workshop clarifies the cost in wear and tear of chronic stress and provides easy-to-implement skills to engage the relaxation response, the parasympathetic nervous system and vagal brake; our tonics to stress reactivity. Managers often have deadlines and pressures from supervisors, from coworkers, from those they supervise; as well as the need to honor their own inner standards and values. Learning to be in training for quick relaxation breaks and perspective shifts, etc., can improve performance and personal well-being. This workshop synthesizes the best of the yogic tradition in stress management, mind-body practices of Herbert Benson’s Mind-Body Institute, mindfulness, emotional brain training; all in the real-world context of practical necessity. Participants will learn & practice 10 easy stress management skills, and will leave with a plan to put their own wellness vision into practice.
