Amrita (Sandra) McLanahan, M.D. is a nationally recognized authority on preventive medicine, nutrition, stress reduction, and primary family health care.
For 20 years she served as Director of Stress Management for Dr. Dean Ornish’s research which uses yoga and lifestyle changes to reverse heart disease and cancer. She worked with Dr. Dean Ornish to document the benefits of dietary change and stress management to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and cancer. She currently practices Integrative Medicine here in Yogaville.
McLanahan has made multiple study trips to India and Asia, where she visited centers that use yoga and other natural therapies to prevent and treat disease. She is the co-author of two books, Surgery and Its Alternatives, and Dr. Yoga. She also appears in 2 DVD’s Health, Yoga & Anatomy, and Living Yoga.
