Join us for this relaxing, health-filled retreat, designed to help you detoxify and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit and to give you tools and motivation to continue to make your health a priority when you return home. Every morning and evening, nationally recognized holistic health physician, Sandra Amrita McLanahan, M.D., and Sumati Steinberg, R.N will outline recipes for success in their healthy-living workshop.

They will discuss yogic techniques and dietary considerations that can assist you in:

• Losing weight

• Decreasing high blood pressure, cholesterol & stress

• Preventing & Reversing diabetes, heart disease & cancer

• Relaxing & Re-energizing

You will spend two restful nights and three relaxing days in our beautiful LOTUS retreat house overlooking the James River. Each morning you will greet the day with guided meditation and Hatha Yoga classes. You will continue to refresh and de-stress body, mind and spirit with optional noon and evening meditation and Hatha Yoga class.

Joy of Health Retreat at YogavilleDr. Amrita McLanahan, M.D., is a nationally recognized authority on preventive medicine, nutrition, stress reduction and primary family health care. As a Director of Stress Management Training at the Preventative Medicine Research Institute for the past 20 years, she worked with Dr. Dean Ornish to document the benefits of dietary change and stress management to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and cancer. Dr. McLanahan is the author of the book Surgery and it’s Alternatives: How to Make the Right Choices for Your Health, and is the medical consultant for the book Dr. Yoga.

 

Joy of Health Through Yoga Retreat at Yogaville (2)Sumati Steinberg, R.N., B.S.N., C.Y.T., is a Nurse Wellness Coach and member of the Yogaville/Integral Yoga Community, since 1973.  As Dr. Amrita’s personal assistant for 8 years, she learned healing practices that promote wellness and prevent illness.  Sumati furthered her education by obtaining a bachelors degree in Nursing.  She currently manages the wellness program at Kyanite Mining Corporation.  For over 20 years, she has served her community by being on-call for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual emergencies.  Sumati lives in Yogaville with her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.
