ITT 2014 1Intermediate Hatha Yoga Teacher Training (I.T.T.) offers an opportunity to profoundly enrich your understanding of Integral Yoga, and your development as an Integral Yoga instructor and practitioner.

In this Intermediate Level Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program (I.T.T.), you will learn additional and significant asanas, their benefits, and how to safely guide students into and out of the poses. You will learn how to make skillful sequencing choices and adaptations that will enhance the class experience for your students. In I.T.T., you will gain a fuller understanding of Prana and the pranayama techniques that we instruct and be able to teach them with greater clarity and more refined detail.

The ITT course includes the study of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the world’s great scriptures. Many may not realize that the Bhagavad Gita is a manual of Yoga par excellence. The treasure revealed within the Gita expounds the philosophy and practices of the Four Main Paths of Yoga, introduced to Integral Yoga students in the Basic teacher training course. In ITT we will expand our understanding of the comprehensiveness of yoga which comprises Integral Yoga.

The four essential paths of yoga are:

  • Karma Yoga: the path of dedicated action and selfless service
  • Raja Yoga: path of meditation which systematically guides us in gaining mastery over the mind
  • Bhakti Yoga: yoga of Devotion, Supreme Love, and Total Surrender.
  • Jnana Yoga: The direct path of Wisdom that leads to knowledge of the True Self.

The ITT also offers the opportunity to develop confidence and practice the necessary skills for teaching the more subtle aspects of yoga including chanting, yogic diet, and meditation.ITT 2014 2

The course is available to all Integral Yoga teachers who have completed Integral Yoga Basic Teacher Training at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville®, or its equivalent at any Integral Yoga Institute or Integral Yoga Teaching Center, and who have at least six months of yoga teaching experience. Certified teachers from other traditions may also apply for consideration for this training.

“The amount of new poses and subtleties of each were far more than I expected. The caring and effort of the teachers was more than I could have ever imagined! They were completely there for us. The experience was transformative.”

“I love Yogaville and this program. Yogaville has changed my life and helped me become selfless,
loving and full of light.”

SatyaGreenstone RestorativeSatya Greenstone, E-RYT 500, has been a student of Sri Swami Satchidananda for over 40 years.  Throughout this time she has shared the teachings of Integral Yoga in many diverse settings with students of all ages and backgrounds.

In 1978, she and her husband started the Yogaville Vidyalayam- Temple of Learning, an elementary school for the ashram community children.  For 17 years they taught the children, developing a full academic curriculum based on the principles and teachings of Yoga.

Since 1999 she has been a primary teacher for the Integral Yoga Basic Teacher Training course.  She combines a natural, practical, down to earth approach to yoga with a gentle humor. She is a yogini first and foremost, and her teaching is an extension of the experience of her yoga practice.

“The residential Teacher Training course is a direct gift from Sri Gurudev, Swami Satchidananda.  He always said that one should become a Yogi first.  It is the most profound program offered at Yogaville, because people come and live the Yogic lifestyle and their lives are transformed.  It is very powerful and I love to be a part of it.”  Satya Greenstone
