Restorative Yoga is an effective antidote to stress, tension and anxiety. During this practice, the body is placed in gentle, supported asanas or poses. These poses literally hold and support the physical body, while the mental body lets go of stress, worry and tension.
In this workshop we draw on psychotherapeutic principles of existential/humanistic psychology, cognitive restructuring, positive visualization, laughter and yogic tools like physical poses, conscious breathing, deep relaxation, Sam will gently show how each one of us can cultivate love, contentment and equanimity.
Big Yoga, an adapted Yoga program based on Integral Yoga, is for you! Meera is expert in adapting Yoga for Any-Body and will show how to make Hatha Yoga comfortable and accessible. This gentle approach to asana practice will help build strength, vitality and calm the stress response.
This retreat is suited to students of all levels of experience. Those new to Yoga and the practice of silence will receive full instruction and support. Experienced retreatants can move even more deeply within. You will also have the opportunity to seek additional guidance or clarification by asking questions in writing.
