The yoga workshops and programs offered at Yogaville are designed to integrate all aspects of life - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual - and put you in touch with your own sense of inner peace and ease. They offer expert instruction on a large number of topics, ranging from the yoga postures and breathing practices to yoga philosophy and meditation to health-related topics.

Integral Yoga Silent Retreats are complete yoga programs designed to relax and revitalize the body, mind, heart and soul.

During each retreat, the program participants observe silence and turn their thoughts inward. They attend daily classes in the yoga postures and breathing techniques, meditate several times a day, listen to talks that help them on their inner journey, and practice selfless service, or karma yoga, the yoga of action. There is also free time for journaling, reading, and relaxing.

Every year we offer a ten-day silent retreat in June, a five-day New Year's Silent Retreat, and four-day silent retreats in the Spring and Fall. Open to all, these retreats provide special attention to both new and experienced students.

We also accommodate fully customizable Group and Personal Retreats for those who wish to immerse themselves in daily Yoga practice, meditation, contemplation and relaxation.

LOTUS - Light Of Truth Universal Shrine

One in Spirit - LOTUS 25th Anniversary was glorious success! It was a truly inspiring weekend dedicated to marking the silver anniversary and the vision of LOTUS unfolding into the future. Over 450 people made the pilgrimage to join together for this joyous occasion; each one bringing a heart full of love and deep understanding of Truth is One. Paths are Many.  Join us in manifesting the LOTUS Three Year Plan

This joyous and holy celebration began with a traditional homa - a fire ceremony from the Hindu faith - to consecrate and honor the Nataraja Shrine which marked a 20th Anniversary, as well. It was a beautiful evening with the sun setting over the Blue Ridge Mountains behind the shrine. The golden rays limned the faces of the people with an aura that seemed to express the Divine Bliss that was surely in each heart.

With Interfaith harmony as the underlying theme, One in Spirit offered much in the way of discourse, dialog and exploration of how we, as a culture can better understand on another.  The interfaith service on Saturday was followed by an afternoon of panel discussions and an evening of songs, dance, wit and heart-warming video, culminating in a fireworks display over the LOTUS Lake. The fireworks "arathi" was a stunning crescendo to a day dedicated to LOTUS' mission of Universal Peace and Understanding.  A spontaneous round of "Happy Birthday to LOTUS" rose up as those assembled on the back observation deck cheered the fireworks show.

Sunday was dedicated all Gurus - the removers of the veil of ignorance - teachers and sages that bring light to the world and help raise awareness of the Divine in all of us. After a guru puja, we gathered together to pray for world peace, harmony and universal brotherhood in the All Faiths Hall of the LOTUS. The afternoon was full of delightful offerings in music, more panel discussions on interfaith harmony, dance and story-telling. The Sunday evening event was dedicated to honoring the Tamil heritage, from which, our beloved Sri Swami Satchidananda arose.  We were transported to India through Bharata Natyam dance, tributes and video.

The Integral Yoga International Conference was held on Monday morning and yielded some remarkable ideas and new energy toward coming together in the vision Integral Yoga - around the world.

A three year plan was revealed as a guide the unfoldment of LOTUS' mission as we approach the 100th Jayanthi celebration of Sri Swami Satchidananda.

LOTUS CENTER FOR WORLD FAITHS

LOTUS Center for World Faiths was established as the educational and outreach vehicle for LOTUS under the guidance of Sri Swami Satchidananda (Sri Gurudev). The mission of LOTUS Center for World Faiths (LCWF) is to further the understanding and application of the principle “Truth is One. Paths are Many,” embodied in the Light Of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS).

We are seeking a qualified person to serve as Director of LCWF and oversee the manifestation of the seven goals enumerated below as a part of the LOTUS Three-Year Plan:

1. Serve as an interfaith resource center for the Ashram and other organizations, including the designation of Ashram coordinators to support and develop the representation of each faith.
2. Develop a comprehensive interfaith database.
3. Establish a dynamic internet presence for LCWF.
4. Create LOTUS and LCWF educational packets to inform more individuals and groups about LOTUS and its message of interfaith harmony.
5. Expand our interfaith relationships with clergy, leaders and spiritual organizations and sponsor interfaith programs that share the message of LOTUS.
6. Facilitate the offering of our unique Light of Truth Universal Service worldwide.
7. Participate in interfaith events including the North American Interfaith Network annual conference and the World Parliament of Religions in 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.

UPCOMING LOTUS IMPROVEMENTS AND EXPANSION

LOTUS has been welcoming countless spiritual seekers from around the world into a peaceful inner space over the past quarter century. This sanctuary, Sri Gurudev’s gift to the world, has given much and needs periodic replenishing and improvements.

• LOTUS Upper Sanctuary:  Replace the twelve discolored altar symbols with permanent glass symbols; purchase new chairs; upgrade the floral arrangements.
• LOTUS All Faiths Hall:  Replace carpeting downstairs after 25 years of service.  (The carpeting in the upper sanctuary was replaced a few years ago).
• LOTUS Display Hall:  Install 3 computerized stations with specialized interfaith education materials in LOTUS Display Hall.

LOTUS OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE

To keep LOTUS open for one and all requires a yearly investment of $60,000.  LOTUS maintenance for the next year includes:

• Replace protective covering on arches at LOTUS and Lotus Road entryway.

• Upkeep LOTUS landscaping, pools, pool filters and pumping system.

• Rebuild perimeter fencing; repair fence railings around LOTUS.

• Repair LOTUS air conditioning system.
